This art fair now, for the past few years, has a different promotor. It is no longer Erin Melloy.

Good Things about this Art Fair: This show location has been shuffled around for a few years and I heard from previous attendees that sales had been up and down. The current location is in a lovely park adjacent to a Metra station with tons of easy parking and the weather was perfect. The quality of the art was excellent and the crowd wasn't large, but it was a buying crowd. The glass artist next to me sold a $1600 Chinese checker set, a friend of mine sold a large original painting and another glass artist had a great show. Artists were given a bag of snacks, water, booth sitting, and lots of attention by the volunteers. The booth price Erin Melloy is a joy to work with. She listens to artists and made me feel very welcome. I had a great show and the mood was very positive all around.
Bad Things about this Art Fair:The park is accessible from one side, so artists on the far side of the park had to cart their displays across grass, but not very far. I was under some trees that littered feathery droppings all over my tent, bins and hair. Also, my set up was on a bunch of mulch that made its way everywhere too... mostly into my shoes.
Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show: Give it a try... it was a wonderful show! The price is extremely reasonable for the quality. Friday night set up at 6 pm is a tough commuter time for locals. I came from the north Chicago suburbs and didn't go over 20 mph on the tollway. Traffic can be brutal so allow lots of time.
