Good Things about this Art Fair: Art is the focus. Patrons are only there for the art show.
Well run and good communications from the show staff. Shady, tree-lined booth spaces for those who like it or out in the sun for those who want lots of light. Easy load in/out. Pull right up to your booth. Easy hours...Sat. 10-5 Sun was a very civilized 11-4. Local caterer does the food...shrimp salad with fresh, local shrimp was really good...
Bad Things about this Art Fair: It's hard to think of something negative about this show... the patrons get confused about the layout... last year there were signs and arrows and they ignored them..this year, no signs and arrows and they were confused...maybe a map...but they still manage to find all of the booths...
Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show: This is not a mega show so if you depend on volume, this is not the show for you. This is a well-heeled crowd from a resort community and the surrounding area and while some visitors find the show, it attracts primarly locals who have the means to buy if something catches their eye...
Additional Commentary on this Show (or about this form): This was my second year doing this show and my sales were much, much better this year. It's also a show that I'll do pretty much no matter what just for making the contacts with collectors, decorators, gallery owners...
