I have done this show for many years in a row. Great return business and snowbirds' buying. Don't think you have to have SW designs. Many customers are from Minnesota, Michigan, Washington, Canada and Iowa. Sales have gotten better every year, depending on the weather. I love the 5 days and feel it is worth it with each day netting about the same. Weather can be anything even snow or 90 degrees. Some spaces get a fair amount of wind.

Good Things about this Art Fair: The Tubac Festival of the Arts takes place in the town of Tubac, AZ which is known as an arts destination for most Tucson residents. Tour buses were bringing people in as a respite from the Gem and Mineral show which also takes place at this time in Tucson. Horse drawn wagons shuttled visitors from the parking into the show.

Bad Things about this Art Fair: Not all that glitters is gold. There was evidence of B/S, non-attendance of artists (just representatives), windy, dusty and lackluster sales do not add up to a good show. The show was a mix of quality and price points. Artists had to pay $6 a day for parking (although it was a fund raiser for a local school).

Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show: I would not go far out of my way for this show. Artist comments from the past suggested that the 5 day run of this show is too long, I agree. Low end items sold but not at a brisk pace.

Additional Commentary on this Show (or about this form): A former Chamber of Commerce member confided, in essence, that the Chamber was filling spaces as at least one artist that was specifically not going to be let in was indeed let in.
