Some of the best art/artists in the region.

Small show, 100 artists
Appropriate music
Nice setting, park like paved area
Well managed logistically for load-in/out
Patron program to try to get out the buyers
Bad Things about this Art Fair:
High booth fee relative to return.
No buying energy
What's up with the house ornaments from Pier 1 being showcased in the middle of the show? Is that not tacky!
Additional Commentary on this Show:
This was not the first time I've done this show with results falling off from previous years. I did half of last years revenue which was half of the year before. I wont be returning even though it is a well managed show.

This was the first year for this event. The show location is in a very upscale area of Wichita. Some artists were making nice sales. Quality was good for a first year show but one exhibitor had big tables with lots of repros and cards. This should not have been allowed. Great volunteers. Load in a little tight. Would like a little more room between booths. I think the heat affected the attendance. I plan to go back next year and hoping they make the needed improvements. Artist parking was a couple of blocks away. Load in was over-managed. Setup was in two shifts, beginning in the early morning and went well. Hotel is within walking distance. Nice artist breakfast. I think this is a show that will grow.
The Friday night patrons' preview at $100 per person had moderate but well qualified attendance. Biggest drawback of the preview event was the lack of electricity for all of the artists. Artists needed to be setup and present for judging at 5pm, with the patrons arriving at 6:30. A total waste of artists' time. Judging can be done during the preview and preview should start at 5. There was nothing for the artists to eat or drink until about 8 pm and it was lukewarm fettucini while the patrons dined on fabulous appetizers. They need to provide, with our booth fees electricity for all artists. (It was $75 extra this year!) Weather was very warm with not much shade.
