Good Things about this Art Fair:
Great communication from organizers. And if the weather cooperates, good crowds.
What could this Art Fair have done better?:
Load-in and load-out is a bear. Difficult with people waiting for up to an hour in line to get the opportunity to unload.
Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show:
This is one of two shows in East Lansing at the same time. If you're an artist, consider the other show. Location matters here. So apply early and pick your spots if you can.
Additional Commentary on this Show:
Is there such a thing as TOO big of a show? If there is, I think this one - when you take into account that another arts show is happening at the same time in the same vicinity - qualifies.
It's just too much for buyers to take in. You can walk and walk and walk and still not cover it all. Add in some rain and everyone was miserable.
I think this show would do better to divorce its timing from the other show and give buyers - and sellers - a break.
I will have to think long and hard about going back.
Plus, tents were way too close together. Literally 10 feet is what they gave you and not an inch more. Made set up and tear down harder than it had to be.
