Drive up to load and unload, with no line to speak of.
What could this Art Fair have done better?:
The layout of the show is really weird and it would be hard to hit all the booths.
No booth sitters, water, food or guidance (no one at the check in table, for example). Also ZERO social media presence, not even a Facebook announcement to share.
Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show:
Make sure you request a space in the center of the park, or you may be missed. Park is very lumpy/hilly so bring shims, and plan to hose down your tent afterwards.
Additional Commentary on this Show:
The buying customers came early on Saturday. Many of the people were just passing through the park on their way to the beach (evidenced by the swimwear).
Not actually shopping. The 500,000 number reported by the show is ridiculous, way off base.

Good Things about this Art Fair:
The venue is beautiful, one block from Lake Michigan. It is low key. You can drive right up to your spot to load and unload.
Parking is on site so you have easy access to your vehicle. The volunteers were very friendly and helpful.
Good restaurants within walking distance.
Great fireworks show.
Bad Things about this Art Fair:
Not many high dollar buyers. Most sales were low end jewelry and pottery. Those at higher price points did not do well.
Because it is a resort town on a holiday weekend, motels are expensive unless you drive to a neighboring community or camp.
Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show:
Artists we spoke with said in past years there were many wealthy buyers in town for the holiday weekend. If they were there in 2016 they were not spending freely as in the past. If you are local with $50.00 or less art you can do well.
It is not worth a long drive unless you can pair it up with another show. That being said it is an easy show to do and a great place to be on 4th of July. We will try and fit it into our schedule again.
