Hello John, We would love an update for this show and all of the others. Everyone is welcome to write a review. Reviews help all artists. Reviews help artists to plan their show schedules. All reviews are helpful whether they are good or bad. We realize that this website is only good if people review the shows. If everyone who uses this website would write just one review it would make a huge difference here.

Caveat to my May 17th post.
If it is any indicator how poorly the 2022 Allen Art Festival fared, several - several - fellow artists packed-up their booths Saturday night/Sunday morning and left.

Good things about this art Fair: Located on the winding streets of a high-end urban retail center with a tasteful use of natural landscape flanking the tributary, Watters Creek has somewhat of the European village feel with all the oversaturated American commercialized clustering to make you feel right at home.
Bad things about this Fair: No visible advertising. A poorly trained event coordinator. No visible advertising. Support staff lacked interaction. No visible advertising. Negligent security team. And no visible advertising. Did I mention the lack of advertising? Social media alone does not sell art fairs.
Artists Amenities: Bottled water for the vendors and plenty of donuts for the volunteers.
Advice to artist considering this show: Because we cannot call them art patrons, there exists a shopping mall mindset of the visitors that cannot see past their cell phones and soft-serve ice cream. Artist are competiting against the climate controlled brick and mortar retailers and in the middle of May in Texas… your conclusions are correct. Visitors did not come to this show with an open mind exploring new concepts, new art, new music, but sadly, only what’s been force fed them for decades. They cannot see past that. If a willing mind could figure a manner in which to penetrate this line of thinking, one may find success. The potential is there, and the potential for Allen is there. Until that moment arives, this venue is not prepared for the art world.
Additional Comments: Artist Cindy Cherrington, in a 2016 post, wrote that she has yet to be successful in these high-end strip mall outdoor atmosphere venues. Six years after her writing, the sentiment remains the same.

Good Things about this Art Fair:
Easy set up. Drive into spot. Close parking in garage for artists without trailers.
Bad Things about this Art Fair:
It's in a high end strip mall outside. Once directed to your spot, never saw volunteers again.
People didn't know a show was going on. It was really spread out so some artists had more traffic than others.
No artist amenities.
Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show:
I don't recommend it. People didn't care too much about art. They were there to shop high end boutique shops.
Additional Commentary on this Show:
I have yet to be successful in these high end strip mall outdoor atmosphere venues.
