What could this Art Fair have done better?:
Attendance was very low. Some of the booths were down a side street and couldn't even be seen (they had to post a "more booths down here" sign). Load in was chaotic.
Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show:
I heard of some people doing well here, but an equal number doing badly. Appears to be a hit or miss location.
Additional Commentary on this Show:
Weather was crappy on Sunday, the show ended up closing early among tornado warnings.

Good Things about this Art Fair:
The Hyde Park area where the art fair takes place is very nice. Good, upscale shops, brick walkways, curving streets.
Bad Things about this Art Fair:
The paying customers were scarce. (seemed to be the case with most artists)
Quality of art was subpar.
The set-up on Saturday morning (no Friday set-up) was difficult, mostly because there were unclear and conflicting directions on where we were to enter the grounds of the art fair, and where we were allowed to park.
Parking was inconvenient. We use a trailer and trailer parking was a good mile away from the art fair.
Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show:
I don't advise doing this show.
Additional Commentary on this Show:
I talked to one of the organizers during the show and he told me he was delighted by how well the set-up went on Saturday morning. My jaw dropped open. My experience was that it seemed very disorganized. Police were surly and giving different directions than the staff.
I've only done a few Howard Allan shows and I'm not impressed by the way they are managed and by the quality of the work on exhibit. Some suggestions to this promoter:
Friday set-up is a definite perk that will attract more and better artists. The Hyde Park show is the only show I'm doing this year that requires a Saturday morning set-up. I'm doing 18 more shows and all of them have set-up scheduled the day before the event starts. I purposely avoid shows that have a Saturday morning set-up. (I should have followed my own advice and skipped this one.)
Although I don't miss the detailed artist packets and the name badges (Howard Allan's shows are pretty bare-bones), it seems like eliminating all extras gives the shows a very basic, unexciting feel.
The fact that Howard Allan shows are juried up until the last minute indicates that they will take anyone, just to fill up the spaces. Hyde Park had many spaces drawn out on the pavement where booths could have been set up, but they were empty. They could have used more artists, but probably didn't have enough applications.
Howard Allan's best show is Las Olas in Ft Lauderdale. I did OK there last year, but still, hate the Saturday morning set-up, so didn't do it this year.
