Good Things about this Art Fair:
This is one of the most well run shows I have ever been to. Set up was on Friday morning and even though we had to wait to drive in and get a spot, everyone was patient and it was very well organized.
Friday night, even though it was cool out - people came. It wasn't a big night but better than most preview events....Saturday started off really well, this is a show where people come all three days and they look and really converse with the artists.
The weather was perfect (although coming from Tennessee the altitude was a bit of a factor....you don't think it's an issue then you climb a flight of stairs and feel like you have just run a marathon.
The dinner on Saturday night was excellent. The community went out of their way to put on a feast and awards were given out and the wine flowed.
Staying in Crested Butte is pretty expensive but we were lucky to find an airb&b that was 50 dollars a night-it wasn't any great shakes but we were never there so I think it worked out great.
Sunday was insane....in the after noon in the matter of one half hour I sold three large paintings....whew..
Load out was easy and well organized. If I ever get in again...I'm there.
What could this Art Fair have done better?:
The committee that put on the show is a well oiled machine.....no egos and no problems...a joy of a show to do.
Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show:
It's a heck of a long drive from the east but I guess you all that do Cherry Creek know about that. Stayed coming back at a hotel in Lincoln Nebraska called "The Graduate"...the room card was Johnny Carson's student ID....Stay there you will be entranced by all the feels.
