Good Things about this Art Fair:
The organization and assistance of this show, run by the Lions Club is top notch. This year they instituted a system designed to have set up and tear down more organized since there is a restriction by the park district forbidding vehicles on the park grass. They employ small tractors and trailers to assist hauling everything from vehicle to booth site.
The setting is nice, in a park next to a small lake with a path winding along it.
Crowds were OK but could have been better. Weather which earlier had threatened to be disruptive was not a factor.
I like the location, promoters and organization of this show and hope to do this show next year with better results.
Bad Things about this Art Fair:
The organizers tried something new this year, and placed a number of booths clustered on the grass in addition to the ones lining the path. That turned out to be a mistake as rains on Friday night made a mess of that area and the booths had to be scattered onto unaffected areas.
Rains two years ago also caused havoc on low lying areas so there should have been some lessons learned as to where not to place booths.
I'm not sure why my sales were poor but there are so many factors to take in that I cannot say whether the show was promoted well or not.
Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show:
This is a nice show with reasonable fees. Choose your booth site from the map they provide to be along the path across the lake. Avoid the end of the path near the road and the lawn booth cluster (if they offer it again).
Additional Commentary on this Show:
This is a pretty good show with nice art and not too high brow.

Good Things about this Art Fair:
Involvement and support of organizing group: Lions Club International was superb! They promoted the show, provided all the info necessary in time and responded to all inquiries.
There was good assistance with transporting materials from the parking lot to the site utilizing tractors and wagons, as well as providing assistance for setting up booths.
The site this year was a temporary one so the booths' layout was pretty much a grid, but there was enough space around the tents and it didn't feel crowded.
Set up was allowed starting at 10AM on Friday and water and snacks were provided which was a first for me. There was an artist reception on Friday evening at the village president's house which was well attended.
Volunteers made the rounds many times and offered water and any assistance needed.
Breakdown was also eased with those tractors and wagons.
Though my sales weren't great, the fair itself was enjoyable and I look forward to attending it next year. The number of vendors was at 85 and as I like shows with anywhere between 40 and 150 or so participants, it was just right.
Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show:
This is a good show with good organization and support. They are responsive and eager to help.
The quality was mostly high but not high end.
Booth fees are reasonable.
Additional Commentary on this Show:
One of the more enjoyable shows I've done so far. Am looking forward to it returning to its regular location in Lake Ellyn next year.
