Good Things about this Art Fair:
The 'Holiday' Art Show team does a great job. Very well organized, excellent communication with artists, nice amenities like free breakfast and water.

Good mix of art and fine craft, well juried, not too many of any one medium. Good load in/out - drive right up to your spot. Clean restrooms, booth sitters if desired.

Tasty food truck available each day. Location near the beach so there were nice breezes on a very hot day. Show is on the street near the Beaches Historical Park. Overnight security provided.

What could this Art Fair have done better?:
This is a newer event [just 4 years old] and the first time it was 2 days. Pretty good traffic on Saturday, steady all day and people willing to buy. Saw lots of packages and frames being carried.

Sunday was much, much slower, [by 2/3]. It was much hotter so not sure if that was a factor, and also if folks knew it was now 2 days long. Slow Sunday foot traffic was my only complaint, otherwise it was very nice.

Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show:
It's Florida so be prepared for the heat and possible popup T-storms.

Sunday sales were not as much as I hoped, so if you are at all local to the area, be sure to advertise. I had two previous clients come find me here [even though it was my first time at this event]

Additional Commentary on this Show:
I have also done the Holiday Art Show event in St. Augustine in the spring and have been very impressed with the professionalism of Ms. Wettach and her team. I will definitely be applying to her events in the future.

Good Things about this Art Fair:
Well curated, great art. Easy load in/load out. Pleasant show staff. Artist amenities were minimal, but good (real bathrooms!).

Bad Things about this Art Fair:
Attendance. No prominent signage. Nothing else going on to attract attention.

Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show:
It's a young show. I think it has potential, they really need to work on attendance. The people that were there appeared to be buying.

Additional Commentary on this Show:
Needs signage and better advertising. Could use some ambiance like music.

Good Things about this Art Fair:
For a show that is only in its second year, Beaches Art Fest (BAF) is doing surprisingly well for a new show.

The customer traffic was up by 50% over last year and should continue to grow as the community becomes aware of its presence.

The site is great with great exposure to major traffic arteries including restaurants and shopping.

Setup and breakdown is an artists dream and well managed plus each artist has 12’ wide, a blessing compared to other shows that are pole to pole.

The quality of the participating artists work was very well juried and I didn’t see one buy sell, another plus for a new show.

There were an ample amount of volunteers that were willing to help artists with almost any task, again, a great feature of any show.

Most of the customers were very well versed in fine art and not just ‘kicking rocks down the road’.

Bad Things about this Art Fair:
Nothing bad can be said, just a few thoughts;
This is still a one day show and at risk of poor weather that could easily kill sales. For those that travel and have hotel/meals it is risky.

Hopefully at some point in the near future it will grow to a point where it can support 2 days or even a Friday PM setup?

Sadly a vehicle was parked in the show area and two artists had to be relocated; however the show is designed to accommodate such events.

Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show:
Just review the points above, if you are local by all means apply.

Good Things about this Art Fair:
The location couldn't be better. Great visibility by two main arteries at the beach.

Set up was very easy - I was able to drive up to the front of my space and unload. The street is wide enough for easy in and out. The area where the art show was held has been recently renovated and is very attractive.

Lots of volunteers to help all throughout the day and the shows producer, Jolyn Johnson, was visible for the entire event talking to artists and patrons.

The attendance for a first year show was great. They did a great job with advertising as well as social media.

Bad Things about this Art Fair:
The only thing I think they could improve upon would be a few more food vendors and port-a-lets. I am sure these issues will be addressed for next years show.

Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show:
It's a great one day show. One of the most organized events I have done. My sales were great and most of the other artists said the same thing.

I can only hope for their continued success and maybe, they will expand into a two day event. I will definitely be back next year if they will have me

Good Things about this Art Fair:
What a great first year show. As an exhibiting artist I was impressed with the way the show was run, layout and the volunteers that always seemed to be present.

The location of the show as located just off two major intersecting roads with great visibility to the driving public. The streets are wide and set up was a breeze with ample space between booths and plenty of back space.

The director, Jolyn Johnson, has some prior experience with shows so the jury process was outstanding. No buy/sell anywhere that I could see and very high quality work in every booth.

Bad Things about this Art Fair:
Nothing really bad, this is a first year show and needs to get some legs under it, however as the public becomes more aware of the show it will improve.

The customer traffic was fairly light compared to other shows but the buyers were there, which is what we are all interested in.

At least for the first time this was a 1 day show, so artists with complicated setups (me) have a lot of work with setup/breakdown in the same day. Future shows could be 2 days but will depend I'm sure on the number of artists increasing, etc.

One area for artists was in a nicely landscaped area with lots of thick, lush grass. For those that had to dolly ( no vehicles allowed ) that really was an impossibility, the wheels would just sink in. In future years that area may be better suited to community organizations or other activities.

The music started at 10:00AM as the show opened and was more or less continuous until closing. Some artists complained that it was too loud and one said they 'lost a sale' because of it?

Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show:
The show fee is very reasonable but consider that it is a one day show, at least for now, and if weather becomes an issue your sales opportunity will be low.

Because this show is only 4 blocks from the ocean wind can be an issue so be prepared, my neighbor lost a large ceramic piece so a heads up for the future.
