Good Things about this Art Fair:
Beautiful venue, situated in Hale Farm and Village, a recreated 18th century village with historic interpreters and historic crafts persons.
Wonderful large crowds that responded to a great media campaign.
Weather was sunny and perfect.
Well organized, great communication from the organizer.
Amazing and diverse group of artists.
Bad Things about this Art Fair:
Hmm, cant think of anything other than that the food vendors kept running out of food and ice cold bottled water.
Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show:
Bring sunscreen and bug spray (we made our own organic - if you want the recipe please feel free to send me a message) and know that it should be a busy day. Crowds come in waves, often associated with the Cuyahoga Valley Line Railroad, as they let passangers off about a half a mile away, and they come in droves.
Buyers are often walking a distance, so smaller items, and lighter weight items tend to sell quicker. Have a wide variety of price points of merchandise.
Additional Commentary on this Show:
This is a wonderfully well organized event, with great overnight security. We always set up on Friday afternoon for the Saturday show. The last two years we have been on the village green, which is the end of the trail. It draws a lot of crowds because of the historic buildings, and the period costumed interpreters... But the paths into the village are lovely as well.
