Good Things about this Art Fair:
Wonderful organizers, great artist amenities and volunteers.

Easy Friday evening load in, appreciative audience, usually excellent sales.

Bad Things about this Art Fair:
Iffy weather first weekend in May.

Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show:
This is such a great show I would highly recommend it to just about anyone.

Additional Commentary on this Show:
Every 6 years the weekend before Mother's Day comes really early in May...this year it was actually April 30-May 1. We had good reason to doubt the weather...it was chilly and it poured on Saturday...the place was deserted by 3:30 pm.

Sunday was much better and I ended up only about 25% under my sales from 2015. Frankly, given the weather, that was a great show!

Estimated Attendance: 501-10,000 people

Good Things about this Art Fair:
I just did this show for the 2nd year and it was my best show ever! I grossed almost $3K.

The organizers are helpful and friendly and the volunteers are diligent and eager to help. Setup and break down are easy with parking available very close to booths. The residents of Elmhurst are very supportive of independent artists and they have a high disposable income. Roz Long does very good advertising and promotion, which draws traffic from a wide area. I did business with people who had driven in from Indiana because they saw her promos.

Bad Things about this Art Fair:
The weather is a little iffy the 1st weekend in May in Chicago, but both days this year and last year were very pleasant. It was pretty gusty on Saturday afternoon and some artists suffered breakage due to the wind. But, the artists I spoke with had an overall good weekend.

Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show:
If you can set up on Friday evening, I'd recommend it. I found the extra time to putz with my display on Saturday morning relaxing and I didn't have any pressure trying to hurry with getting it all done in just a few hours.

Additional Commentary on this Show:
Roz told me that people show up for this event rain or shine. I think unless it were a tornado, I'd do this show with no reluctance, even in the rain.

This show is amazing. This was my second year there. Roz Long is a great organizer and very professional. She runs two shows in Elmhurst each year, this one and a holiday show that is indoors in November.
