Good Things about this Art Fair:
The staff was very good. Load-in and out was fairly easy and organized. Location is lovely and permanent bathrooms are available.
Bad Things about this Art Fair:
The weather can be your worst enemy. Everything in my tent was constantly moving, including the art, and we didn't have extreme weather. I had 100 lbs weight per corner, and it wasn't enough.
The clientele did not seem at all inclined to buy, even though I got a lot of great compliments and I have relatively low prices. Other artists shared that their sales were terrible.
Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show:
If you have a very popular item to sell, it might be worth your while. If you do "traditional" art, or 2d art, I'd think twice about participating.
I was very excited to be accepted to this show because of its reputation, but I was severely disappointed with the results.
Additional Commentary on this Show:
I only experienced this show once, and I won't be returning because I simply can't afford to do shows where I don't make back my booth fee as a minimum. But it might have been a bad year. The people selling jewelry and unique items seemed to do better.

Good Things about this Art Fair:
Staff and volunteers were great. Load in was easy, load out was well organized.
Bad Things about this Art Fair:
On the beach of the Chesapeake Bay in VA in October, wind, cold, rain, and as a results poor attendance.
Parking can be a bit of a problem.
Some buy sell present.
Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show:
Bring LOTS of weights, be prepared for rain, have something of impulse buy variety with a low price point.
Additional Commentary on this Show:
I have been told that this once was a great show. The folks putting it on do a fantastic job and couldn't be more helpful, but for the last three years it has been plagued by wind, rain, and cold. I also was told it used to be in August, which sounds like a lot better timing for a beach show.

Booth Fee vs. Your Sales Ratio: Okay
Estimated Attendance: 501-10,000 people
Good Things about this Art Fair:
Very helpful staff. There was someone to direct us to our space and even assist a bit as we set up in the rain Friday night. There was someone to relieve you for a short time if you were presenting alone. There was great live music during the show. The locale (on the waterfront at the Chesapeake Bay) is beautiful. Attendance at this show seems to be growing every year. (As well as an increasing number of artists.)
Bad Things about this Art Fair:
Weather can be a bit rough and unpredictable.
Not a negative, just a comment: This show is strictly limited to art (no "crafts"). Criteria for a craft: If is is useful, it is a craft. (I disagree with contrived definitions such as this, as I have previously commented in the blogs.)
Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show:
Bring ample tie-down and weigh-down materials to secure your tent in case of high winds on the waterfront.
