Good Things about this Art Fair:
Great attendance. I've never seen so many people.

Lots of wonderful food. It was great exposure for me. The people who run it are super nice and helpful.

Bad Things about this Art Fair:
This is a festival atmosphere with lots of beer drinking and tons of people. Very very crowded. It's crafty with lots of painted wooden pumpkin decor. Bathrooms are few and far between.

Parking is limited and they close off the street so you have to get there really early (like at 6:30 am) and leave really late (like at 9:30pm). That's a long day.

Advice to Other Artists Considering this show:
It's cold this time of year in the mornings - like in the 30's.

Additional Commentary on this Show:
Overall this was a very good show for me. I enjoyed it and will most likely be returning in 2015.

Good Things about this Art Fair: The estimate was a half million in attendance. The street was constantly filled with people. There were buyers, and people planning to buy because they brought shopping carts and rolling luggage to stuff their purchases in. There were a variety of mediums represented.
Amazing community participation, great sense of organisation to get the vendors in for set up, and out for tear down... Wonderful to see the teenagers working hard in every aspect of the event.

Bad Things about this Art Fair: The only concern i had was that not every booth seemed to sell handcrafted items... there were a few garden and lawn ornament sellers who's products looked like they were made in china. Considering we went through a rigorous jury process, I was surprised that some booths were not as professional...
Sales were not proportionate to the volume of attendance. We plan that 1% of attendees purchase, and i am thinking event yielded more like 1/2 of 1% in sales.

Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show: Lay your booth out well, Have visual pop to draw them in, include a good selection of lower cost items for gifts. Have a positive attitude and enjoy the event.

Additional Commentary on this Show: Its a great show to do... with some learning curves.... the attendance could not have been better, and the weather was wonderful. I would do it again, but this next time plan and lay out my booth more to catch the eye of those approaching from the left side of my booth ... foot traffic followed the rules of driving, staying on the right side of the yellow line and approaching booths in the same way. Our set up cried for people walking head into the booth... Its a learning curve.
