Two major comments I received from others.
1. The band would be better placed near the food. This way it does not interfere with artist, trying to discuss sales or otherwise. Maybe or maybe not that's the best place but away from artist tents is probably a good idea.
2. The kids zone, summit art tent, etc. needs lights on outside (porch light). At night no one came in because it was dark etc. So maybe improved layout.
It was my first out side event. I sold lots of Jack & Squat. However, I learned much and will apply for next show... I'm not giving up that easily.
I did have people commenting on my art, even crying as it touched their heart... priceless. But I think my art was too high in price; which is odd, because galleries say I'm too low - I'm in the gray...:-0 However, i think the event needs some pricey art; and from what I hear, by prices are low, by most artist standpoint. What I'm saying is the show should stay quality fine art, not a craft show - we have those for separate events. Stay classy SAF...!
The food was great, I had all four vendors, multiple times!
Other artist, fantastic, lots of good conversations.
The train sucked, but not 1/2 as bad as I thought it would. Only thing bad about 3rd street, it should have been done years ago;-). I really like it on the West. At first I was thinking no, not the best. But now, I think its a good place. Maybe the thing will trump Plaza and need all of downtown LS in future;-). I spent time volunteering for this, great people to work with...!
Hope this helps.

I just finished this show last weekend and must say it was a flop. Nice art and artists but no buyers. The theme of this show seemed to be drink and listen to the bands. LOTS of craft show quality work of nontraditional art and awards were random and off the wall. Location was very nice as was the staff. There were businesses along the venue that did not know the show was going on so advertisement was almost non-existent. I had just finished two shows with sales over 2k and didn't even cover costs here.
The Summit Art Organization is responsible for the music and traffic and show promoters are responsible to set booth location.
Crowd was "reported expecting" 50,000. Nowhere near that number.

Good Things about this Art Fair: Really good mix of artisans. Very well organized. Also, this year the art show is moving to downtown Lee's Summit, where the traffic will be considerably better. Good art, well organized, and fun to participate in.
Bad Things about this Art Fair: The weather is unpredictable.
Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show: I think it is a good show to participate in.
