Good Things about this Art Fair: I have been doing shows with Howard Alan Events for 10 years, 7 years at this show and this year was my very best all time show money wise with this promoter. It was phenomenal. I'm still trying to catch me breath! The crowds were fabulous and the weather perfect. Held in a mall parking lot, we all had plenty of back room space which made thing less crowed, set up the day before was a huge plus and tear down well organized. Helanye , who was assigned to direct this show for the promoter was on site and accessible all weekend (love that! Nothing worse than not being able to find someone in charge) FYI...my art is illustrative, wacky, bright colored art and is a good fit for this environment. No doubt that helps my sales in this region.
Bad Things about this Art Fair:Not all my fellow artist were raving with as glowing reviews of show as me. Most were calling it a decent, strong show, with only two I spoke with saying it wasn't working for them. But I think art shows are about k owing your demographics. This show has a strong Midwestern clientele that are snowbirds, as opposed to the east coast of FL which reflects the eastern seaboard. Those who complained to me that their sales were bad,all said they rocked shows on the east coast of FL that I usually flounder at!
Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show: If the demographics fit and you do well in the Midwest, I'd reccomend this show if you want to try some Florida Shows.
