Art on the Rockies is an excellent show, in a great location, with a very high end attendance. Edwards and the Vail Valley is an extremely affluent area of Colorado, and the show has a very knowledgeable and loyal following. The promoter and staff are dedicated to putting on a great show with added conveniences not seen at many shows. Colleen Everett, the show director and artist herself, takes great effort to make sure the artists are well taken care of. Examples are; an Artist welcome dinner hosted by Korbel and a local brewery, an air conditioned Artst hospitality room with artisan breads, bagels, cheeses and fruits, etc., air conditioned restrooms, and an extremely easy load in/load out, loads of convenient parking for attendees as well as Artists. The Artists selected for this show are top notch, with high calibur work. The ratio of qualified, serious buyers is high, with fewer lookers as many shows attract. All this, combined with the beautiful Vail Valley mountain surroundings, makes this a 'must-do' show for me!

Good Things about this Art Fair:
Nice people put on the show. They did bring around a bottle of water every day. The art at the show is sensational.
I was able to paint at my easel every day, which did get people to come over and talk to me.
Loading in and out was easy.
Bad Things about this Art Fair:
Few people, very hot, zero buyers. Lots of dogs, and bikes. A few whiny kids.
Some very rude patrons, who talked on their phones, while they looked at the art, describing it to their listener, but never acknowleging me, or even saying hello, then leaving.
One mother left her 8 year old daughter at my booth, and did not return for 30 minuets, called her to come with her, and then brought her back five minuets later, never saying anything about the art, nor buying anything, but looking through my print bin.
The heat and winds were very bad.
Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show:
Do not bother. It is too big of a risk as there are some good years and some bad ones. This was my first year, and my last.

Good Things about this Art Fair:
Art on the Rockies was a wonderful show...
1)LOCATION is beautiful and load-in & set-up was a breeze.
2) Helpful, friendly staff and volunteers - well organized management. (Promoters went out of their way to communicate and assist the artists)
3)The quality of the artists is top notch! I was next to a Cherry Creek sculptor and Scottsdale painter who claimed this show was one of their best.
4) The collectors and audience who come to this show are there to buy art... its not like the Denver show where I had 50,000 people walking through on a leisurely weekend walk, but not buying. The people attending were from the surrounding, wealthy communities - and they were to buy.
5) The sales were phenomenal! I did over $10,000.00 in the three day show
Bad Things about this Art Fair:
Not a show for lower end artists. They did not do as well at the show.
Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show:
Do the show... it's fun and profitable
Additional Commentary on this Show:
I enjoyed the welcome artist party after set up on Thursday. The Korbel Champagne group hosts a free Friday night Art Walk for the festival that brought out a great crowd.
