Good Things about this Art Fair: The show is located in the center of town around the court house. Lots of shade throughout the day. This is the first show of a busy summer season in Prescott and people are ready to come out for it. Amenities are great; water, hot drinks, donuts, snacks. Didn't see booth sitters though. Fairly easy to get into the park and out again for set-up/tear-down. People were art savvy. Weather was great this year!
Bad Things about this Art Fair: See booth sitters above. Show hours are not conducive to the best attendance. Sat hours are 9-5 and Sun hours are 9-4. I think starting at 10 each day and going till 6 and 5 respectively each day would be better. Inconsistency with what artists are told. I specifically went to a show official and asked if I could stake my tent, she said yes, on Sat. some "higher up" from the county said they couldn't be. Go figure!
Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show:This show has a wide range of quality. One visitor, a local gallery sculpture/artist confided that he only saw 4 artists booths whose work he admired (I was one of them!) I didn't see any flagrant B/S but one has to wonder how a jeweler can sell large "turquoise" necklaces for $20 hmmmm.
Additional Commentary on this Show (or about this form):Prescott (pronounced Press-kit) is a lively arts savvy community, come with your best but don't expect huge sales. A lot of relocated CA residents that don't seem to be spending much.

Good Things about this Art Fair: Set-up and tear-down easy, Parking for vendors convenient to show. Quality of work excellent. Application to show easy. Location for show excellent. booth sitters if needed were available. Restrooms when they arrived convenient and clean
Bad Things about this Art Fair: Good percentage of the artists did not make much money, Porta-potties were not at show till Sunday, instead of Saturday. Crowds were down, and not spending
Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show: If you plan to drive over 100 miles might not be worth it for you. I live 3 miles from where the show was and i do not plan to come again. Have to realize that they have approx 8 shows in prescott during the summer so a lot of the locals do not come. Prescott is a beautiful area and a lot of people come up from phoenix to get out of the heat that is a plus.
