Good Things about this Art Fair: The weather was decent.
Bad Things about this Art Fair:
I was allowed to reserve a booth on the website when submitting my app; however, I was moved from a good spot on Custer to a poor spot on Washington under the El & Metro transit lines. Fair goers used this street as a pass thru between the major streets. First sign something is wrong ... almost all vendors in this area were new. You cannot sell anything if people don't even stop at your booth. We do major art fairs around the country ... we didn't see more than 35 people in our booth the entire weekend even though there was a decent crowd. The noise and dirt from the transit system was very noticeable. Even jewelers in our area were having no business.
Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show: If you want to consider this show, make sure you get the booth you are reserving before paying your booth fee. The crowd appeared to be shopping on Custer not Washington. It also appeared that the main attractions in this show are food & music not the artwork.
Additional Commentary on this Show (or about this form): Parking was expensive on a side street that was all uphill beside the transit system. We came early so had no trouble getting parking in our paid area; however, those who arrived closer to show time couldn't even park in the area because there were no more spaces available. Loading out was a nighmare.
