What could this Art Fair have done better?:
Lots. Read the blog for 2017

Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show:
Based on reputation, lower end artists will still apply and attend it. For high-end work, it just doesn't cut it anymore.

Good Things about this Art Fair:
The location is just outstandingly beautiful. I get the feeling this is a show that people want to recognize you before they buy. I had a bunch of people come in and tell me they didn't recognize my work and that they hoped I would come back.

The money is there too. The people who did buy dropped their two and three hundred dollar checks without flinching.

I had a fairly steady stream of people most of the weekend, it got insanely hot around noon and I was kind of not in a main area so people of course thinned out during lunch.

I made my expenses and a little extra and load out wasn't too bad at all. I moved to CA this year but I am honestly considering traveling out for it.

The art is really quite good work, I didn't see any buy/sell and the crowds were happy.

Bad Things about this Art Fair:
I was next to a geode breaking booth which was decent because apparently he is a long standing booth so the people line up for him which then brought some attention to my booth. But as always I need to bring some much smaller cheaper work.

Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show: While you are there make sure you go to Strawberry Park Hot Springs!

Good Things about this Art Fair: Fairly easy to load in & out. The people working there and the police were all very nice.
Bad Things about this Art Fair:
Poor booth layout, there is no reason some of us artists had to be stuck in low traffic area. Several mentioned to me how my booth was kind of hidden.

Buy-sell vendors mixed in with artist who do hand-made work. And a BBQ sauce vendor in with the art?

Apparently it is during monsoon season, be ready to move fast!

Extremely poor sales. I get the feeling this isn't much of a fine art buying crowd. I did hear good sales from craft type vendors.

The promoters claim around 10,000 visitors but I'd be really surprised if I saw 1000.

$50 sale tax deposit is a pain, especially when I was far from even having that much in sales tax.

Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show: I personally don't feel this show is the right venue for anyone with a little higher caliber of fine art, or perhaps even any type of B&W photography. It wasn't even worth the drive up from Denver for me.

Good Things about this Art Fair: Generally well organized and managed by local arts council. Nice setting in park on grass. Affluent locals and visitors.

Bad Things about this Art Fair: Volunteers a little disorganized this year. No water faucet handle and didn't know how to respond to a medical situation of a patron. Colorado mountain weather can always be an issue. Typical mountain cloud burst with flash-bang lightning Friday evening during set up. Zipped up tent and, kept working. Noticed that three tents went down. Nothing wrong with the economy in this resort town even though annual balloon rodeo canceled due to fire danger.

Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show: My medium is plane and carved leather which appeals to the western lifestyle locals and visitors. Belts, gun leathers, horse tack, dog tack and personal leather goods sold well. Average sale $71.

Hot springs in the park produce hydrogen sulfide (rotten egg gas) which will tarnish silver overnight. Request site away from the spring.

Additional Commentary on this Show (or about this form): Most interesting sale: wealthy parents bought daughter about 7 years old a $200 belt with sterling overlay heart shaped buckle with jewelers bronze horse head on it. Waist size 25 should be a quick carving job.
