Good Things about this Art Fair:
This is one of the best run show I have ever been to. It is a pleasure to do. It runs from 11am until 10pm Friday and Saturday and until 5 on Sunday.
It was so hot this year that many said that the crowds didn't come out. I did really notice that in the heat of the day- everyone except us disappeared. I can't blame them it was super hot.
The people that did come come out were very serious buyers and there were many. So many really good conversations with people that were knowledgeable and caring.
Water, ice, and food brought around constantly. A nice awards dinner with very friendly judges that engaged. It just doesn't get much better than this.
What could this Art Fair have done better?:
The heat index was 111 degrees and it was brutal. There is nothing the show could do about that. Being open until ten o'clock makes two very, very long days. So, consider what you are in for.
Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show:
You can't go wrong with Des Moines. Every medium was represented, didn't see any buy/sell and the quality was top notch.
