Good Things about this Art Fair: Easy set-up, educated clientele. Nice awards and breakfast, though I didn't attend it this year.
Bad Things about this Art Fair: Sales were WAY down this year (2013) for some reason, and I pretty much broke even. It's hard to say why since the weather wasn't bad. This is my third year doing the show, 2012 was decent and 2011 was good, so I may have to give it a year off before coming back.
Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show: It's a Chicago show, but without the nightmare set-up and logistics that seem to come with many other shows in the area. The attendees definitely have money, though this year they weren't willing to part with much of it!

Good Things about this Art Fair: Pretty easy set-up (at least for me) where you can drive your van right next to your spot. Mostly conservative art-buyers, but they do have money and didn't bicker much on price. A very well-to-do area. Coming from the north I very much enjoyed NOT having to drive through Chicago or worry about feeling like I was going to get mugged at any time. It's a nice show setting in a very upscale shopping and restaurant area. A nice artist breakfast on Monday morning (yes monday, it's a labor day weekend show!) They treat the artists very well here, you will be appreciated.
Bad Things about this Art Fair: Morning only set-up, however, it starts at 4:00am, so you have plenty of time, just need to get up EARLY!
Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show: Sales to booth fee ratio was fair at this community run show. Booth is about half of an Amdur show, and I think it draws many of the same buyers that attend Port Clinton (several mentioned that these two shows were their favorite in the Chicago area). Not sure on attendance, as I've never done any of her shows, but I felt it was pretty well attended, but not so many people that you have a hard time walking around. Mostly serious buyers --nobody made any comments like "Geez, I like your work, maybe I'll buy something if I ever win the lottery," which I get at some shows.
