Good Things about this Art Fair: Well, organized, easy load in/out, coffee in the mornings. Good mix of art. Reasonable booth fee. Nice town. Engaged patrons willing to spend.
Bad Things about this Art Fair: uneven street. There was one questionable "Painter" that I saw. It looked like they had multiples of the same painting in their vehicle which they then painted over. It seemed that craft/fine craft was selling better than fine art. Lodging can be pricey.
Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show: Bring shims and a fire extinguisher (required by the show.)
Additional Commentary on this Show: This was my first year at this show. Although my sales weren't fantastic, given the low booth fee and since it's only a 2.5 hour drive for me, I felt it had enough potential to try again if I have the weekend open.

Show Name: Summer Art Fest
City and State: Gig Harbor, Washington
Your Medium: Jewelry
Year you most recently exhibited at this Show: 2011
Your Estimated Sales at this Show: $501-$2000
Number of Years You have Exhibited in this Show: 5-10 times
Attendance: (1 is poor, 5 is great) 3

Ease of Participating: 4
Sales: 2
Overall: 3
Booth Fee vs. Your Sales Ratio: Good
Estimated Attendance: 501-10,000 people
Good Things about this Art Fair:
Relatively easy show to do, no real late hours. Great volunteers, good communication from the show director.
Bad Things about this Art Fair:
2011 was the first time in 5 years I can remember it raining at this show, past shows have been warm and sunny, this year was an anomoly.
Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show:
Sales are usually fairly good for most artists. There were 28 jewelry booths out of the 130 booths so you have to be unique. Well balanced show overall. Directors need to be more careful with forcing those who did not jury in the jewelry category to remove their jewelry.
Additional Commentary on this Show:
Locals really support this show but really didn't show up in their normal attendance due to the rain in 2011.
