I still do the show, this will be our 10th year. We have buyers that collect our jewelry and they come to the show and buy. I live in another state now and still trek to this show. I still do not like the same day load in or the drugs being dealt behind my booth during show hours with the police 30 feet away ignoring them.

Good Things about this Art Fair: Two day show, hours are good. Lots of shoppers and lookers.
Bad Things about this Art Fair: Same day early load-in. You might arrive and get right to your booth or you might sit in line for 30-60 minutes. You only have 3-4 hours to set up.
Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show: They added electricity this year at high price $125-150, I can't remember the exact cost. We remove all our inventory at night.
Additional Commentary on this Show (or about this form): We are local so this is a low expense show for us.

Some what agree with your take on the U District show but I for one, have only had 2 poor sales shows in the 10 years I've done this show. I do wish we could set up the night before because it takes me nearly 5 hours to build my booth. That means I'm on the street at 4:00 AM.
Every artist must research the show in order to dicide if their art works with the attending crowd. Mine does. as foe thief, I've never had a problem but the potential for booth vandalism always worries me. So far, so good.

Good Things about this Art Fair:
Close to home.
Bad Things about this Art Fair:
Forced early morning set up, bad reputation as being a show with lots of theft, vandalism and student pranks overnight, security is not good.
Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show:
I would only consider this if you are local and have products that sell well to students. This is not a high end art show. They've tried to eliminate the buy/sell but it still sneaks in. This is also a show where weather can vary greatly from year to year.
Additional Commentary on this Show:
We won't be doing this show again, most likely, just not worth the time and effort.
