Good Things about this Art Fair:
The load in was easy, I did it the morning of the show. It seemed there was a lot of entry points through the show for easy unloading and loading.
The town was lovely the weather was great, the artist were helpful.
Bad Things about this Art Fair:
I was somewhat pleased with the show, would like to do again as most of the artists have been there many years and say it the" best show around these parts".
Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show:
My accommodations seemed a little high, might need to look into that a bit closer.
There are a whole list of shows (7) from October to March. Some the patrons referred to it as a traveling show. Its with Thunderbird Artist, the last show in March Fountain Hills March 13-15

My painter/husband Brian applied to the Carefree show after being accepted at Scottsdale. We drove from Minnesota, hoping for warmth, sunshine and good sales. Carefree did not disappoint. Set-up and take-down were a bit of a free-for-all, but the other artists were cooperative and we pulled it off without a hitch. The quality of art varied from "what the bleep?" to "wow!" One jeweler was a no-show (unacceptable in my book). Her husband and a rep made the sales. This show features a large percentage of western art, including bronze sculptures, native-inspired pottery and a large number of Native American oil portraits. Perhaps attendees were tired of the same old western art. The new artists, those with something different and of high quality, seemed to be having the most success. Adjacent to the booths, we discovered Big Buns Bakery, where Margot make the most amazing sticky buns and chocolate croissants, making the trip doubly worthwhile.
