Good Things about this Art Fair:
The arts coordinator is amazing~ kind, considerate, organized, attentive, informative....
The volunteers and staff are courteous, helpful and supportive.
The ambience is incredible, whether in Contemporary Crafts near gospel, blues and jazz tents, or Louisiana Marketplace near Zydeco and Cajun stages.
Food is ample and delicious., from cochon de lait and crawfish monica to oysters en brochette and andouille gumbo. It's Louisiana!
Weather is unpredictable, on occasion rainy, but sales remain over $10k because of great attendance and diverse crowds.
Set up is easier than at most shows.
Bad Things about this Art Fair:
Sometimes it rains.
Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show:
Though the focus would seem to be on music, there are plenty of enthusiastic art buyers, including many who return annually to check out art, new and returning.
Attendance is about 250,000.

Good Things about this Art Fair:
The Jazz Fest is a combination of Fantastic Music, Food and Art/Craft. Many people think that having music, food and crafts combined is not a good thing...but they have never been to Jazz Fest.
It is a 2 weekend event and artists can only participate in one weekend. We did the first weekend which was 3 days and the second is 4 days.
We were so busy in the booth that i hardly had a chance to walk around...but that was good...!
Lots of great sales and some commission orders to boot. We did get to listen to Santana on Saturday and Eric Clapton on Sunday. This was just a mere sampling of the great music that was there. The food..well, it does not get any better...I had gumbo twice from Prejeans restaurant from Lafayette...Bob Prejean has the best Cajun food there is...I am not sure about the attendance but it had to be north of 250,000 for the weekend we were there.
Bad Things about this Art Fair:
Can't think of any negatives
Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show:
Do it and have a blast....!

Good Things about this Art Fair: I don't know the final attndance numbers but I understand it was in excess of 600,000. All juried craftsmen and artists were top caliber. 60 booth spaces were available per weekend. the music, food and crafts were unbelievably fantastic. I had great sales and ate more fantastic food than any time I can remember in the history of my poor stuffed stomach. There was so much outstanding music that I don't know where to even start and it probably couldn't be put into words by anyone other than a much more talented writer. Loading in and setting up was a breeze because the Fair Ground racetrack where it is held is huge. Drove right up to my booth space. Take down was also easy even with everyone doing it at the same time. The staff and volunteers were so well organized and helpful. This was the 43rd year of this festival and it keeps getting better and better.
Bad Things about this Art Fair: Nothing bad except that talked so much to people that I am loosing my voice..A very good "bad" thing.
Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show: Get in if you can. Competition for this juried show is extensive.

this show is highly competitive, it's very hard to get in. Some people do really well and some people make hardly any money. The booth fees are more than what is listed on here, you have to buy insurance in addition to the booth fee. This is a music festival, they list the music first, the food second, and the visual artists are last to be mentioned. It's a good show if you can get in, if the weather is good and if you have the right product.
