Good Things about this Art Fair:
It used to be an easy set up with driving to your booth space, unloading, parking, setting up but now they changed location to a green within the university campus and one has to dolly about 1/4 mile, partly up a walkway, then park the car a 1/2 mile away, walk back to set up. Some artists had to do this 9 times to get all their art in and they are experienced show participants.
Take down was a total mess with some artists only able to load out at 11PM because they could not get their vans in. It always was a nice show but now the physical demands will prohibit many artists from participating.
Very disappointing as the setting around the Lowe Museum was always nice. There were two judges but one never made himself known, just a dot on the placard. Not very cool.
All of previous year's winners were set up in a row. Some did not like that idea very much.
What could this Art Fair have done better?:
Closer parking for artists, better lay out as the current one was totally confusing for a customer to find you again. There was no signage for rest rooms or porta potties.
Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show:
Be prepared to lug your stuff for all together several miles, wear supportive shoes because its a long haul. Set up is on grass without staking. Could get messy if it rains.
Customers are nice and some come to actually buy art and have the funds for it, so big pieces can move but no help is available during the show to get the pieces out but carry it for 1/2 a mile.

Good Things about this Art Fair:
Artist breakfast is about all I can say this year.
What could this Art Fair have done better?:
The location has been changed and it did not work.
Load in and out was about 1000 feet from the closest tents and no lighting for load out.
Returning customers could not find us.
This has been one of my best shows and I'm afraid it's over. None of the artists I spoke to would even consider returning and all would have canceled if we had known about the conditions before arriving.
Sad!
Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show:
Consider this only if they can find a easier location, like past years where we were on pavement or in grass at pavement edge.
Additional Commentary on this Show:
Even getting to the artist breakfast (which was great) was a very long walk.

Good Things about this Art Fair:
I have gone to this art fair since 2003. It was wonderful then, got too large and allowed in some not so wonderful artists and a couple of years ago decided to return to better quality art.
It really showed this year. The artists were wonderful and there was a wide variety of types and styles. Prices were all over but as a reflection of the quality, they were on the high side.
The U of Miami provides a wonderful setting for this festival and this year there was the added bonus of Macaws that 'serenaded' everyone as they fought over who should sit on what branch. Parking is plentiful, food is in one area, away from the art.
The new layout was the only drawback as it was confusing, leaving you to wonder if you had really seen everything. Hopefully this will be corrected.
