Good Things about this Art Fair: This show is very well organized with easy set-up and tear down, huge crowds every year with amazing publicity. Quality of artists is unsurpassed and the setting is perfect. The crowds come to buy and for most this is one of the favorite shows of the year as it is for me. I had a great show as did many of my neighbors.
Bad Things about this Art Fair: There are not many things one can say bad about this show.

Good Things about this Art Fair: Great energy from the crowd. Friday night seems to be more of a social evening but people come back.
The crowds on Friday can be HUGE, don't leave your booth as it's really hard to get back in.
Bad Things about this Art Fair: Not much space behind booth, perhaps four feet - and you share that with the booth behind you.
Additional Commentary on this Show (or about this form): We've had ups and downs at the show but it usually ends up very solid for us. The weather can get ugly in a hurry so be prepared.

Good Things about this Art Fair:
Lots of traffic, mostly intelligent buyers, good sales Friday, access to good rest rooms and coffee in the Plaza offices. Good food at the show food court.
Bad Things about this Art Fair:
Rain and cold weather blew in on Sat and cold air stayed on Sunday.
Volunteers were kind of sketchy on where things were during setup, plus they had lots of school groups wandering around with all those big box trucks and Sprinters trying to get to their spaces - I feared pedestrian accidents.
Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show:
Pack a jacket and umbrella, just in case.

Pastels
This was my first time at this show. I do pastels that range from $450 to $3200. I had heard lots of good things about this show and I have to say that I found the good things to be true.
We all got staggered times to load in, and it was very smooth getting in. The show is on wide streets, and the booths are in the middle with a couple extra feet on the sides and back. The area has lots of free parking for everyone.
I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with the buying energy I experienced through the whole weekend. Many people had seen my work at Brookside in the Spring, and sought me out here. It seems to me that Kansas City folk use these two shows to shop for fine art. I saw quite a lot of artwork being carried around.
While not my best show, it was my best "Original only" show. Price sensitivity seemed low as well, unlike every show I have done on the East Coast.
