Good Things about this Art Fair: Naples is a beautiful place to be in February
Bad Things about this Art Fair: Tough dolly into and out of the Park, Traffic in the park is perhaps half of traffic on the street.
Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show: Get on the street!
Additional Commentary on this Show (or about this form): This is an older, art show burned out market. Too many shows and the buyers just don't much care anymore.
I was on the main path in the park and had very few people venture off of the park into my booth. Booths behind me that had no footpath were ever worse. I had several people walk through my booth from the back to the front because they couldn't find their way out of the booth area behind me. I heard that some jewelers did well but most reported sales similar to mine.

First time doing this show (did Naples Downtown the year before). I did really, really well and had great sales (a lot of smaller work sold along with one large work. Did ship a number of works back to people's homes in other states). The weather both Sat. & Sunday was perfect. I was in the park under the trees and while some reviews have complained about this spot I loved it. Load in and out was timed and I was there in my time slot and it was easy...made a bit better by some 'volunteers' that were working for tips and that helped dolly into the park. People associated with the show were all friendly, helpful etc.... I would go back in a minute if I could but I was not juried in for 2012. That was heartbreaking as was looking forward to spending a week in Naples! Hoping to go back another year I guess.
However, while I did well, there were many artists (including an abstract painter near me) that did not do well at all and others (like the painter of FL scenes) had good sales.

Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show:
It's a very long drive for artist coming from Wisconsin. There was very little haggling. Nice people. Mostly from the North vacationing or spending a few months in Naples.

Photography - Traditionally, this has been one of the top spring shows in Florida. Several years back, it had a whopping $7200 per exhibitor average sales. These days it may be closer to $3.5K. It is a hard show to get into. There are no slouches here and very little buy/sell that I could detect.
Friday: Naples is a rich area, dominated by older mid-westerners with ample disposable income. They tend to buy conservative--they love Florida images and images from Italy. They are very polite and most don't try to get you down on the price. I had a super day selling work from high end to low end.
Sunday was an equal day, weatherwise, but the crowds were so different. There were just as many of them, but most were just walking down the aisles without buying anything. No energy like Saturday. Yet, at least 10 exhibitors that I talked to, who had poor Saturday sales, reported making great individually large sales on Sunday. How do you figure? Thank God it happened.
This is still a great show to do in Florida.
