Good Things about this Art Fair: This show was very well organized, and it is in a very beautiful location. You can drive right up to your tent and unload. I had no difficulty unpacking and packing back up. There were people available to help and everyone, including other artists, were very accommodating. All of the facilities were very clean. There was exhibitor parking and a bus that went back and forth from the parking to the fair. They also gave a free tour of the Lyndhurst estate and mansion. There were no buy and sell vendors. The show promoter was always present and very involved.
Bad Things about this Art Fair: The show had 300 artists and although 10,000 seems like a lot, the crowd included a lot of people who were drawn to the place and the other events rather than the show itself. There are also needed to be more people for the number of artists. There is too much going on and it tries to be something for everyone. There was also a great variation in prices. The booth fees were high and if you were in the tent the show provided you paid a premium. The tent, however, was in the back of the show, and so by the time people got there they had begun to become burnt out.
Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show: Edgy, contemporary work did not do very well, but more traditional work, both high and low end, did very well.
Additional Commentary on this Show (or about this form): I would do this show again because of how easy the show was and how enjoyable the show was.
