Fairhope Arts & Crafts Festival Raview...
This past Friday, Saturday and Sunday was the Fairhope Festival. This was our secoind year in it and this year the weather was as good as we hoped it would be. Setup starts at 6pm on Thursday after the streets are cleared and is usually a madhouse rush to manuver the tight spaces to reach your booth location but is do-able. Friday crowns were very good consistent most all day until the last hour between 5 and 6pm. The group puttin' on the festival are as nice and helpful as can be and frequently brought us water and cold drinks and asked if we needed booth sitters or anything else. This show is put on by the chamber and they do a fine job...
Saturday's crowds were also plentiful and spending their money. As with most shows there were a lot dog walkers of stroller pushers...both with babies and dogs in their strollers. heck, we even saw a cat on a leash...and I don't ever remember seeing that before. Again, crowds really thinned out around 5pm. They could really end each day at 5pm and no one would complain. Good sales on Saturday for us also...
Sunday crowds started out a bit slower in the morning but picked up after 12. Our sales on Sunday were slower than Friday and Saturday but the overall end result put a grin on my chin.
We saw some of our good friends there and also made some new friends. It is ALWAYS such a nice feeling to meet such good people. The show ended Sunday a 5pm and load out wasn't too bad. We were packed up and on the road in about 90 minutes.
