Good Things about this Art Fair: The show has a GREAT setting. I liked the area and the restaurants. Easy and organized load in and load out.

Bad Things about this Art Fair: I am not sure how much the show was advertised other then the signs around the mall area. I did not feel that the crowd was all that big but I do believe the cold and drizzle Saturday had something to do with that. Sunday was beautiful weather but it did not help with my sales.

Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show: I think this is a great show to get in on, it is still in the begining stages. I believe it will turn into an great show, one of the best to attend in Virginia.

Good Things about this Art Fair: Steady and reliable; my sales have been consistently strong all three times I exhibited. It is also a very good looking show in terms of the high quality of the exhibitors.

Bad Things about this Art Fair: Nothing for me. This show seems to produce either solid sales or poor sales with no middle ground. Fortunately I have always been one of the strong sellers

Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show: There is no advice specific to this show. As always, a show gives you a platform, nothing more. What you do with it is entirely up to you.

Additional Commentary on this Show (or about this form): This show is still in the "growing towards its full potential" phase. Both the 2011 and 2012 April shows had one great day and one lousy day of weather. It is only in its second year. Yet it still produced very solid sales. I think this venue will only get stronger as it continues to establish itself. My buyers came from a pretty wide geograhic radius, so that means the advertising is working, the word is getting out, and people are willing to travel to attend what is becoming a destination show. Put this show on your list and be a part of that growth.

I did the Fairfax show too. The man next to me sold nothing the whole weekend. The couple on the other side of me, only sold a little bit. The couple next to them, said they did in the double digits. I did not make expenses. Saturday was great, I thought it was a good sign. Sunday, I didn't sell one thing. We did not get the traffic down our end. I'm assuming that it had a lot to do with all the empty stores behind us. I don't blame Bill at all. We were just unlucky....I can't wait to try his other shows.

Good Things about this Art Fair:
Beautiful location. Big crowds. Affluent area. Fairly easy load in/out. Great quality of artists. Perfect number of exhibitors - around 130.

Good advertising. Promoters provided a delicious lunch on Saturday. Good vibes all around.

Bad Things about this Art Fair:
None, really. It rained a tiny bit on and off on Sunday, so that affected the crowd size, but not my sales. All of my big sales were on Sunday, so I'll take a little rain anytime!

This was a first year show - but didn't feel like a first year show. So when this venue matures- look out! This will develope into one of the top shows in the country.

Advice to Other Artists Considering this Show:
Get in now while you still can. This is going to become a top show. Also, a show can provide a location. It can provide a crowd. What you do with that crowd once it arrives is up to you - not the show.

I did just fine. Other artists did very well, too. Some folks didn't sell too well. That will be true of every show. All a show can do is give you a chance, not a guarentee, and this show will give you a great chance to make some sales.

Additional Commentary on this Show:
This was my first show of 2011, and it felt strong. Paragon continues its reputation of adding first-class destinations to its show schedule. And this show, like all Paragon shows, feels like a tight knit family that I'm proud to be a part of.
